Northfield Wines Weka Ranch Vineyard is located in the Oak Knoll district of the Napa Valley of Northern California. The Napa Valley is California's most famous wine-growing region, located 45 miles northeast of San Francisco. Wine has been made in the valley since the mid 1840s.

The valley is bordered by the Mayacamas mountain range on the east and the Vaca Range on the West. Like the Waipara Valley, Napa is very close to the Pacific Ocean and is bordered to the South by the San Francisco Bay.

The valley is widest in the south, where the Carneros appellation lies, and is also significantly cooler than the north end 30 miles away in Calistoga. The Napa Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) encompasses 15 individual AVAs including the Oak Knoll District where the Weka Ranch Vineyard is located.

There are more than 33 different soil compositions, a variety of microclimates, and diverse geography throughout the valley floor and surrounding hillsides making it one of the most geologically complex wine regions in the world.

The Napa Valley is one of California's most popular tourism destinations with more than 4 million visitors every year. There are more than 400 wineries to visit, award winning restaurants featuring fresh locally sourced food, world class accommodation and breath-taking scenery throughout the grape growing and harvest seasons.
